Upper Deck Takes a Bite Out of the ‘World of Politics’ on Super Tuesday

Rare variations of new “World of Politics” set show famous politicians taking a break on the campaign trail!

Carlsbad, CA (March 6, 2012) – Last month Upper Deck released details on a nine-card insert set in the company’s new World of Sports set called “World of Politics.” The set was included as a way to commemorate the presidential campaign by profiling incumbent Barack Obama and eight other members of the Republican Party hoping to earn the GOP nomination. Upper Deck alluded to the fact there was a rare variation of these cards and it makes light of how difficult things can be for these politicians as they make their way across America campaigning.

“The campaign trail is tiring, but everybody has to take time out to eat,” said Brandon Miller, brand manager for collegiate sports products. “Eating on the road is not all bad however as frequently politicians get to sample some amazing local dishes along the way. We felt it would be interesting to create very limited variation cards of these famous political heavyweights breaking bread on the road.”

Politicians featured in the “World of Politics” variation set include Barack Obama, Rick Perry, Mitt Romney, Michele Bachmann, Newt Gingrich, Sarah Palin, Rick Santorum, Ron Paul and Herman Cain. Candidates are shown taking a bite out of everything from pork chops to corn dogs.

Political junkies can find Upper Deck’s World of Sports set in stores now.
