Upper Deck Launches Marvel ‘The Avengers Assemble’ Movie Trading Card Set

Sketch Cards, Costume Cards, Autographs Cards and ‘Ultimate Panel’ Cards Bring the Movie to Life for Fans of the Popular Franchise!

Carlsbad, CA (March 23, 2012) – Upper Deck, in collaboration with Marvel Entertainment, LLC, is excited to announce the release of its “The Avengers Assemble” trading cards which chronicle the events that lead up to Marvel’s “The Avengers” and also offer fans a first look at the highly anticipated movie prior to its May 4 release. Only Upper Deck can bring fans collectible cards of their favorite Marvel characters such as Iron Man, Thor, Captain America, and Hulk.

“In anticipation to the film’s popularity, we are pulling out all the stops to unsure Upper Deck’s ‘The Avengers Assemble’ release is chock-full of compelling content Marvel fans will covet,” said Jason Masherah, Upper Deck’s vice president of Marketing and Business Development. “With amazing sketch cards from top Marvel artists, movie-worn memorabilia cards and autograph cards of actors from the film; each pack will be a thrill for fans to open.”

Each 7-card pack will have one hobby exclusive insert. On average, every 24-pack box will deliver a hand drawn one-of-a-kind sketch card, one single or dual memorabilia card, and one printing plate or triple or quad memorabilia card. The series also includes autograph cards from the film’s cast including Cobie Smolders, Jeremy Renner and Chris Hemsworth, as well as an additional chase card set with the “Ultimate Panel” cards that feature panels cut from an actual Marvel “The Avengers No. 1” comic book. Autograph and “Ultimate Panel” cards will fall two per case on average.
