UPPER DECK’S MARVEL SLINGERS® WINS TOP HONORS AT CHICAGO TOY & GAME FAIR

"SLINGERS™" WINS "BEST TOY IN SHOW" AWARD

Carlsbad, CA (December 23, 2011)– Upper Deck’s new line of Marvel Slingers made it’s national debut at the Chicago Toy & Game Fair in November and took the crowd by storm. Throughout the weekend, the Upper Deck booth was filled with kids and parents looking to get their hands on the brand new and highly sought after toy; Marvel Slingers. The toy was so popular with attendees that it was voted the highly coveted “Best Toy in Show” award for the 2011-Chicago Toy & Game Fair.

"Slingers were one of the most anticipated products debuting at the Fair and the crowds went crazy for them,” said Mary Couzin, president of the Chicago Toy and Game Group. “The booth was packed from show open to show end with kids having loads of fun. It is no surprise they were voted ‘Best Toy in Show’ by our Fair attendees."

Since the ChiTAG show, Upper Deck has been busy bringing the excitement of Slingers to Boys & Girls Clubs along the west and east coasts. The reaction has been overwhelmingly positive there as well and tours are scheduled to continue in 2012.

"Slingers is a toy you get in your hands and immediately fall in love with,” said Jason Masherah, Upper Deck’s vice president of Marketing. “We have worked hard to share the product with as many youngsters as possible over the last few weeks and we can see those efforts are paying off as Slingers have been selling well at Toys “R” Us.
