Job Title: Associate Content Manager (World of Warcraft)

Summary

Responsible for managing the creation of key materials and content related to the Company’s entertainment properties.  Primary responsibilities include design of internal intellectual properties as well as the development of licensed properties.  This position follows the product through the research and development (R&D) process and becomes the master generator of creative content to support game products, marketing and websites. 

 
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
The following statements are intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed by an individual assigned to this job. Other duties may be assigned.
·         Creates and manages content for World of Warcraft TCG site.

·         Recruits and manages external and internal writers.

·         Writes content as needed.

·         Proofreads content from authors and makes corrections.

·         Sets website publication schedules.

·         Works with fansites to determine which cards they may preview before launch.

·         Regular communication and projects with Upper Deck Digital (UDD), product management, research and development (R&D) and organized play.

·         Creates supplementary materials related to the Company’s games (rulebooks, FAQs, demos, etc).

 
Interaction

This position will interact closely with the Creative Content Manager and departmental personnel along with related Company staff members and external parties.

 
Supervisory Responsibilities

Will often lead teams of co-workers, as well as manage cross-team projects.  May oversee independent contractors.

 
Education/Years Experience

·         High School Diploma or equivalent; BA/BS Degree strongly preferred.

·         2+ years of intellectual property development, script writing, world building, or other related experience preferred.

 
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
·         Strong knowledge of World of Warcraft online game.

·         Strong TCG background.

·         Knowledge of Upper Deck Entertainment products (other gaming products acceptable).

·         Excellent writing and editing abilities.  Must be able to create a wide array of content and act as an efficient self-editor.

·         Basic document layout skills.  Advanced skills preferred.

·         Strong interpersonal, problem solving and relationship building abilities.

·         Strong organizational skills with the ability to handle multiple, high priority projects with a keen attention to detail.

·         Professional demeanor; team player orientation.  Ability to interface with internal and external parties.

·         Ability to perform duties under minimal supervision while exercising discretion and independent judgment.

·         Hands on, energetic, and motivated self-starter. 

·         Ability to travel domestically and internationally on behalf of the Company with little to no advance notice.
